My Tao

One goal at a time.

My Tao is a task tracker with a single constraint: you can take on only one task a day.

Why one task

Most planners are built on the idea that the more tasks you close, the closer the goal. In practice, long to-do lists often work against you: people take on too much, lose focus, and burn out before they even get going. My Tao starts from a different principle. One meaningful step a day, but every day. You define your big-picture goal, then complete one task each day that moves you toward it. Progress toward big goals becomes continuous, and discipline turns into a habit that requires no heroics.

The app is grounded in the philosophy of Tao: cut away the unnecessary and keep what matters.

How the app works

North Star

Everything begins with defining your main goal: a mission or a big project. Every daily task should bring you closer to it. This works as a simple filter that screens out anything unrelated to what matters most.

Journey Log

Journey Log

Your path to the goal is visualized: each completed task becomes a star along the route. Over time, individual steps add up to a clear picture of your progress.

Garden of Wisdom

A completed goal moves to the garden of finished goals. You can return to this archive to trace how each achievement came together. In difficult periods, your own documented experience works better than motivational quotes.

Reflection and Interface

Reflection & Analytics

After each task, the app invites you to record your observations: what helped (“laser focus,” “early start”) and what got in the way (“procrastination,” “vague goal”). Over time, My Tao finds patterns in these notes and offers personal recommendations for strengthening your path.

Midnight Burn

An active task must be completed by the end of the day. If it isn’t, it “burns.” This rule teaches realistic planning: take on only what you can actually finish today.

Interface

Minimalist design, haptic feedback, a calm palette, and “breathing” animations. There is nothing in the app that would distract you from the single task of the day.

Who My Tao is for

  • Those who are tired of overloaded to-do lists and want their focus back.
  • Professionals who work in deep concentration mode.
  • Anyone drawn to the idea of mindful progress: growing not only in numbers, but in self-understanding.

My Tao won’t do the work for you. It helps you take one step every day in the direction you have defined as the one that matters.
